Day 208 - 44 Films

We went to the cinema twice over the weekend, Friday and Saturday evenings and on both occasions we loved the films, both of us giving them a score of 8/10.

We went to see Ghostbusters film not expecting too much to be honest.  We had seen the trailer over and over and the film looked pretty weak, but just about good enough to go and watch with our Unlimited cards.  But for once we were pleasantly surprised and the film was way better than the trailer had implied.  In fact a couple of the jokes in the trailer had been spliced together from different scenes ... very strange!!

Saturday night saw us settling down in our cinema seats to watch the new Roald Dahl story 'The BFG'.  It was a delight and there were lots of 'grown ups' in the audience without children in tow.  It's been a good year for film watching and as you can see from the list of films on the sidebar we are now up to the grand total of 44 films, not something we would have been able to afford to do without our cards.

Today is a No Spend Day

  2. I mostly rent DVDs at Redbox, a movie-rental kiosk here in America. The films become available about three months after they appear in theatres. I've been using your list to select my movie rentals, so thank you!

  3. I tend to watch most films now "On Demand" at home (in peace) - but I am meeting a friend next week and we are going to see "Ghostbusters" so glad to hear that you enjoyed it.
